Hi I’m Donna Wolfe from naztazia.com
Today I’ll show you how to make faux or fake broomstick lace stitch without a
knitting needle. By the way please subscribe to my YouTube channel and like
me on Facebook Instagram Pinterest and Twitter. To begin chain 28 or any
multiple of 4. Stretch your loop up and then draw up loops in the next three
chains. Two… and three. You have four loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through, and
chain one. Now insert your hook under the four loops and make four single crochet
stitches. Two… three… and four. Draw up loops in the next four
chains… two… three… and four. Yarn over and draw through four loops. Then yarn over
and draw through the last two. That’s kind of like your first single crochet stitch.
Now make three more single crochet stitches under the loops. And three.
Technically there’s four single crochet if you count that very first one we had
drawn through the loops. Draw up loops in the next four chains again. Three and
four. Yarn over, draw through four loops. Yarn over and draw through last two
loops. Three single crochet stitches in the loops. Draw up your loops again. Yarn-over, make your single crochet, then
make three more single crochet stitches in the middle of the loops. Continue this
across the row. At the end fasten off your yarn. Put a slip knot on your hook
of the new yarn color and slip stitch to the first stitch, back loops. Draw up
three more loops in the back loops. Two and three. Yarn over and draw through all
four loops. Chain one, make four single crochet stitches in the middle of these
loops. Two three and four. Draw up loops in the next four stitches – two three and
four. Yarn over and draw through four loops, then finish with a single crochet.
Make three more single crochet stitches in the middle of these loops. Draw up loops again and complete your
work. Next row start like you did for the
green row. That first set of stitches is different than the rest of them as you
can see. And that’s how I make my faux fake broomstick lace without a knitting
needle. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel. Like and comment on this video.

  4. I love this! I find the broomstick stitch too slow to work up as I hate having to use the knitting needle. This method is so easy and looks gorgeous too

  5. Hello Naztazia, your videos are amazing. I wonder if you could show the back of the knitting at the end, that would help us a lot. Thanks.

  6. Your videos are very well explained, you can learn very easy, but I'm new to crochet and wanted to know how to close each career. Thanks !! Congratulations on your work.

  13. Does Donna have a written pattern or video for the lace coverup that she's wearing in this video? I need something like that and this one is beautiful. I'd love to make it. Thanks. Carole

  14. So clear to follow. My only question was answered in the comment section. Wanted to turn but saw the comments. Love your videos.

  15. I found your video on Facebook I was wondering if you know how much yarn I would need for a blanket 60 inches wide by 80 inches long using a medium weight yarn I already have the width chains to work with hopefully I won't have any left over

  16. Donna, what kind of yarn is that? Also, so glad I found you! You explain things do well and videos are fine great! Thank you!

  17. Your videos are always fantastic but I just do not understand this one. I do the 4 loops then single crochet and then single crochet in the chain or middle or what?

  18. Donna; which stitch pattern uses more yarn for a blanket, this pattern or the slanted diagonal stitch pattern. They're both looking quick n easy and I'm ready to do either one but trying to save money on my yarn purchase since I'm on a small, really small pension. Thx M'am. ❤

  19. Would it be possible to work this in rounds to make an infinity scarf? Also, do you use the hook size recommended for the yarn or go a little bigger? Thank you for the wonderful video!

  20. I LOVE this stitch! If you don’t change color how many chains at the end of the row before you begin a new one?

  21. After you have completed you blanket what do you do with all the loose strands on the ends from where you’ve changed colors???

  22. I love this stitch. However, if I want to use an ombre yarn & not change colors, how to do transfer up to row 2 & so on?

  23. I love broomstick lace, and I know I'm going to love this too! Thanks for sharing this! What would you do at the end of each row if you're not changing colors, just ch 1 and turn?

  24. Donna: Do you have a written pattern for this?? Also, if I'm using the same yarn through-out my design, what stitch do I do if I'm not changing colors at all, and turn my work??

  25. Absolutely love this stitch. Can you do a quick video on this beautiful stitch without switching the colors and also a border????
