Go back! (chuckles) 38 million Americans suffer from migraines on a regular basis. There are hundreds of potential culprits to migraines and the cure varies according to the cause. So when you’re sitting in a dark room for days, when you can’t move, when you’re spinning your head or your head wants to explode what do you do? There’s some brand new research that may have found a clue as to why some people get migraines and a simple preventative solution. Researchers at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine found that the mouth of migraine sufferers harbor significantly more microbes with the ability to modify nitrates than the people who do not get migraine headaches. So what does this mean? Nitrates are found in food, processed meats, green leafy vegetables. And a lot of people who suffer from migraine headaches actually say that they found a connection between consuming nitrates and severe headaches. There’s a specific bacteria in your mouth that modifies nitrates into nitrites. And according to the study, people who get migraines have more of this bacteria than people who don’t. Now this may give you and I a clue as to why nitrates affect people negatively while it doesn’t bother others. So if you’re affected by this or you’re not, you’re going to want to pay attention. And since this bacteria in your body is connected to a lot of things, including your immune system, your moods, your hormones, your digestion, even your cognitive abilities – your brain’s ability to shift back and forth that ‘neurosynapses’ between the left and right hemisphere. So it’s no wonder that they could play a major role in headaches. So why should you avoid nitrate-containing foods? Well, first, you have to understand the difference between nitrated meat and nitrates and veggies. Because I have a hard time believing that anybody should be avoiding those delicious green micronutrient-rich vegetables. But listen to this, nitrates and vegetables and nitrates and nitrites are both naturally occurring chemical compounds found in soil, water, plants, etc. About 80% of nitrates in your diet probably come from leafy greens and the vegetables that you eat. And that’s a good thing. Studies have found that these naturally-occurring nitrates may actually improve your cardiovascular health. It may actually lower your blood pressure. It could improve your athletic performance as well. So what about the nitrates in processed meat? A form of nitrate is called a sodium nitrate. And it’s the salt that’s been used to preserve meat for decades. In the 20th century, scientists discovered that when sodium nitrate interacts with the bacteria in meat, it turns into sodium nitrite. So now, instead of adding natural sodium nitrate to their meats for preservation, manufacturers most often just add a synthetic or a fake sodium nitrite. The problem with this synthetic nitrate is that when heated above a certain degrees, it becomes a possible cause of cancer. In 2010, the World Health Organization listed ingested nitrates and nitrites as probable human carcinogens. So do we know for sure that nitrates and nitrites cause migraines? No. Further study is definitely needed. But a lot of people do notice that when they eat processed meats, they get headaches and migraines. So the simple solution? Avoid processed meats. Opt for fresh or frozen organic pastured meats whenever possible . And for those times when a migraine hits and throws you on the bus, here’s the juice recipe to help manage the pain. This is my turmeric juice recipe for migraine relief. The ingredients is: one bunch of celery, one cucumber, one-and-a-half inches of turmeric root, one inch of ginger root, 1 cup of pineapple, and three carrots in this juice recipe as well. You’re gonna love this recipe. It’s so creamy, it’s so delicious. And it’s so good at helping you get rid of those migraines. I know what it’s like. Your whole head lights up, it’s hard to move. You can’t even look to the right, it’s hurts your eye sockets like this. Nobody likes hurting your eye sockets when they have a headache. It’s just bad news for everyone. 2. Hey, Drew. Thank you so much for you videos and the opportunity to get a juicer. My friend (Eddie Johnson) and I have been researching health benefits of Foods and also have been cross-referencing medical statistics with what the Bible says about food and oils. We have found that these facts check out.

Eddie and I watch FitLifeTV and have been wanting to take it a little further and dig deeper into this. You have been a wonderful blessing to us.

With that being said, I need to upgrade my juicer. Follow the link and see the juicer that was handed down to me from my grandmother that I am currently using. It's time to up grade.

    LOL 😂 JK!
But seriously, a juicer will help out tremendously. I would go out and buy one for my family and myself, but don't have a job to allow me to do so.

Again, thank you for your vids and giving to others.

  3. Be vegan. Leave the animals alone.

Also birth control pills cause dramatic shifts in female hormones that cause migraines too. I got off all birth control 15 years ago and never had a migraine again. They could never solve the pain I was feeling . We tried every Rx and I got Narcotics shots too and needed someone to drive me home. It was insane!

Solve the problem at its source—all pathology is either behavioral or environmental or Both!!!!

Ubiquity of disease is a direct correlation to the ubiquity of it's precursors. It's really that simple.

My ex eats ALL kinds of processed meats and is obese with a myriad of health problems prior to age 50

Other family members too. I speak loud and often from experience

  4. Hi Drew and team! Thank you for the info. It makes sense now…I sure will try this recipe next time I have a crazy headache. And also ,want to say – whenever I feel down I watch your videos and instantly improves my mood. So much positive energy!!! Thank you!

  7. Thanks so much for this video! I've been suffering from migraines for over 5 years! Been taking medication and recently discovered juicing! I also suffer from being overweight and your videos give me hope. I now know there's a healthier alternative and look forward to making a healthy change in my life! A juicer would help to get started though 🙂 Keep up the awesome work/videos!

  12. I'm 15 and I'm a freshman in high school and I wanted to let you know that I've tried everything to lose weight or fat and I looked at your channel and I have to say, this is better than looking at other random channels. 15. hey Drew. need to ask, is there anything that you can substitute for pineapple. unfortunately through the years- oddly,I have become allergic to certain fruits. my throat becomes really itchy when eating.: (
    what to do?

  16. Hi Drew and Company. Another great video! In my family we try to juice often to be healthy and have energy. Juicing took on a deeper importance to us when my sister recently got diagnosed with breast cancer. She is an adoring wife and mother of two precious kids. She's trying to juice through her treatments, to ensure greater success. But unfortunately her juicer broke 😟. I want to win a juicer for her! Thanks for all you do.

  17. So the recipe is:
    – 1 bunch of celery
    – 1 cucumber
    – 1.5 inches of tumeric root
    – 1 inch of ginger root
    – 1 cup of pineapple
    – 3 carrots

But I believe those bacteria are getting stored beneath my teeth and that I need my root canal to be redone, even it the dentist disagrees…

  18. I recommend taking cold showers for those who have migraines. Man I feel so clear headed after taking a cold shower and stop eating meat.
